Auto Electronics: Things That Make Driving a Lot Easier

With the steady development in automobile technology a large number of parts and products have been introduced in the market over the last few years in order to make automobiles function in a better way. As a result, Auto Electronics has emerged as one of the most important segments of automobile industry nowadays. These electronic products are manufactured in such a way that they are able to enhance the driving experience to a large extent. There are different kinds of electronic products used in the automobile industry nowadays and so it is better to have a knowledge about their functions.

Anti-lock Braking System

Anti-lock Braking System, which is more commonly known as ABS is one of the most widely used Auto Electronics parts in cars at present. The Anti-lock Braking System works to enable the driver to steer the car away from a sudden obstruction on the road all the while engaging the brake. Without ABS steering away is not possible and chances are that the car would ram into the object. ABS quite effectively neutralizes this threat and save the driver and passengers from potential injuries and even fatalities.

Electronic Brake-force Distribution

Another type of important Auto Electronics is the Electronic Brake-force Distribution system or EBD. This is especially useful for vehicles that carry load. In order to bring a moving vehicle to an absolute halt within a very short time, it is essential to distribute the brake force to the wheels according to the load carried. Thus the rear wheels may need extra brake force than the front wheels and EBD does exactly that. When brake is applied, EBD calculates the load in different parts of the vehicles and distributes the brake-force accordingly. Thus the vehicles halts within a very short time.

Brake Assist

Brake Assist is essential for those who prefer to go on long drives frequently. The main task of the Brake Assist is to help the driver apply the brake properly and effectively. During a long journey cruising at a steady speed for a long time is normal. But problem arises when the car faces a sudden obstacle. In such a situation applying the brakes properly and promptly after long hours of inaction can be a troublesome task. Brake Assist senses whether the driver wishes to apply the brake by checking the pressure on the brake pad. If the signal is positive it activates the brake even if the driver is unable to engage it properly.
