Grooming-the right tool
Grooming-the right tool
Grooming the the first essential part for a horse. Just like humans, a horse too, needs to be cleaned, shampooed and combed every once in a while.
- Curry Brush/Rubber Mitt - Brushing is the most important part of grooming a horse. You can buy fancy brushed Imported from Europe at high prices, or you can go to a feeder to buy a reasonably priced one. One could use either of the two products, it highly depends on what works best for them.
Also, make sure you use one brush/mitt for one horse, so as to avoid the transfer of skin parasites from one horse to another.
- Wide tooth comb - The mane and the tail are the most integral part for a horse. A decent wide tooth comb is very much required to take care of both these parts.
- Hoof Pick - One can always find a variety of these in the market. But the best one would be a pick that fits easily at the back of your pocket. It's easy, convenient and can also be used for multiple horses.
- Shampoo/Conditioner - One requires a good shampoo for the man and tail part especially. Those locks should be well cleaned and should look sleek and gorgeous every time he/she goes out for a run.
- Bag - Most importantly, it is very important to take good care of the brushes, combs and the hoof picks. Hence always keep them in a zip lock bag to keep the dust out.
Make sure you use your horse care products. Most horses really enjoy being groomed. Some of them feel so relaxed during grooming that they actually fall asleep. This is one of the best ways to bond with your horse, especially if you have acquired a new one.
